These reproduction decks are based off the “Hustling Joe No 61” semi-transformation playing cards published by the United States Playing Card Company in 1895.

“Joe” is represented by the ace, the court cards were originally intended to be of a comical nature, and each number card is a vignette. However, as a faithful 1895 reproduction, some illustrations retain period racial caricatures/stereotypes that many modern collectors will find offensive.

These decks were digitally recreated from authentic source material to be as accurate to the original as possible.
